Happy Hour with the Historian is a lively monthly event designed to bring local history to life in an engaging, relaxed setting. Held on the second Thursday of each month at the museum, the series combines storytelling with social time, welcoming visitors to enjoy wine or beer from a cash bar while hearing fascinating talks on Florida’s past. Doors open at 6 p.m., with presentations beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Presented by Southern Roots Realty, each installment features a different speaker: historians, authors, archaeologists, and local experts, who explore a wide range of topics. Past presentations have covered regional themes from neighborhood histories to cultural icons, pivotal events, and even supernatural lore. The atmosphere is intentionally conversational and welcoming, offering attendees the chance to meet the speaker and ask questions after the talk.
