Climb aboard and discover the dreamers and schemers who created St. Petersburg! Hear the hidden histories of the city’s founders, piers, railroads, waterfront parks, and unique downtown neighborhoods. From Thrill Hill and Roser Park to Coffee Pot and Mirror Lake, the Museum of History will take you on a historic trip back in time to when the Sunshine City was a hidden paradise!
From Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio to Jackie Robinson and Stan Musial travel in Hall of Fame footsteps and discover over a century of baseball history in the Sunshine City. This two-hour trolley tour explores the fields, facilities, clubs and players that made St. Petersburg the MLB Spring Training Capital of the World. Curated by the Society for American Baseball Researchers (SABR), the tour will travel through the history of America’s pastime in St. Pete from 1914 to 2007 where nine teams—including the Yankees, Mets, Cardinals, and Browns—made St. Pete the original Spring Training destination!
Prohibition Era Trolley Tour
Starting and finishing at the St. Pete Distillery, this tour heads to west St. Pete and uncovers how the Roaring Twenties influenced the Sunshine City. Rum runners, illegal nightclubs, and a decade-long party filled our nights – and days. Hear about the legends of Al Capone, and visit the hotels and not-so-hidden clubs that turned St. Pete into America’s favorite party paradise. The tour also explores the native culture and Spanish exploration of the Gulf side of the city’s peninsula.
Haunted Trolley Tour
Experience the creepy side of the Sunshine City! This ghostly tour takes you through the lesser-known haunts of downtown, as well as the haunted neighborhoods of Roser Park and the Old Northeast. Led by the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg crew, we promise you’ll have a spooktacular time!
Come out for the “Discovery” and experience of St. Petersburg’s history from the water. Partnering with the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center on the Pier, the Museum offers this two-hour historic boat tour. Learn how the development of our downtown waterfront turned a sun-kissed fishing village into a world-famous tourist destination, and what happened to the Tampa Bay ecosystem as a result. This tour is the perfect blend of history, science, and beautiful waterfront views!
