Gloria Steinem passed away yesterday at age 92, leaving a legacy of six decades advocating for gender equality, reproductive rights, and social justice.

The renowned journalist, author, and Ms. Magazine co-founder famously took her message directly to communities worldwide.

Locally, this includes a historic March 5, 2008, campus visit to Eckerd College alongside activist Dorothy Pitman Hughes to honor Women’s History Month.

Her enduring legacy will continue to guide and inspire future generations of change-makers right here in our community and across the globe.
